The War Room contains a large table of food because Stanley Kubrick intended to end the film with a custard pie fight between the Russians and the Americans. He decided not to use the footage because he found it too farcical to fit with the satirical nature of the rest of the film.

Author/screenwriter S.E. Hinton on the set with director Francis Ford Coppola who made two of the writer’s novels which were released in 1983: “The Outsiders” and “Rumble Fish”.
In these photos are Coppola, Hinton and stars Matt Dillon, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio and Diane Lane. The star studded casts also included Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Leif Garrett, Tom Waits, Mickey Rourke, Dennis Hopper, and Laurence Fishburne among others.
"The Outsiders" was released in March of 1983 and "Rumble Fish" came out in October of 1983.
